This is the first in the series (Both new and old) and as a starting point, everything is great about this book! It allows you to get a taste of the FF world without anything complicated. The book has a great balance of adventure and combat and the odd puzzle. The addition of the maze later in the adventure is awesome! (Everyone will want to read the "How to Map" feature in the Salamonis Gazette for hints on mapping!)
After a few attempts I finally beat the book. Replay value? Definitely! I still haven't found some of the other monsters that I've noticed while reading the book. You'll read it again and take different paths to find everything!
I'd rate this game an excellent 9/10 (Need to leave room for better books!)
